  • Welcome to Many Rivers Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service!

    The Many Rivers Family Violence & Legal Service has been operating in Kempsey since 1998.  It was the first such office in Australia and to date there are 31 FVPLS offices around Australia and are funded by the Attorney General's Department.

    Real Relationship Program

    This is an eight week program aimed at giving participants a better insight into how they react to situations that can result in negative behaviours.... more info

    Victim Services

    We will help you access free counselling and financial assistance, including a recognition payment for injury suffered and/or immediate needs payment for home security or relocation costs.... more info

    Consent Orders

    We can provide advice on matters including children. We can assist in trying to get consent orders regarding your children or make a referral to start Court proceedings.... more info

    Our Services

    • Go to court with you
    • Help you get Court Orders (AVO's) to protect you and your children
    • Tell you about other services you may need e.g. Housing, Centrelink, Medical etc and help you contact services
    • Tell you about your right to claim Victims Compensation and hold frequent community education workshops
    • Offer/refer to family mediation when appropriate
